Exploration, a sail and a highlight of your Gulf Islands experience
Board the 35' William Trip Jr. designed Coronado sloop, Sandpiper, in picturesque Retreat Cove, Galiano Island, for the perfect adventure. Seasoned skipper and blue water sailor, George Harris, will treat you to an amazing afternoon, day, sunset or overnight(s) cruise.
Your sailboat is one of the best ways to get up close to the incredibly rich diversity of sea life found just off these wondrous shores.
This catered (optional) voyage features local delicacies including seafood in season. Light snacks are provided on all voyages.
You may choose the most popular cruise destination: Wallace Island, virtually uninhabited but steeped in a magical history. Some of the original buildings remain, but this gem of an island became a Marine Park 2 decades ago. The only way to reach Wallace is by private yacht. You could even decide to set up a tent for the night and be picked up the following day! Or snorkel/swim in the protected waters of Princess Bay and Conover Cove.
The dock at Fernwood on Salt Spring Island is a short beam reach from Retreat Cove should you wish to visit.
Overnight cruisers have the option of visiting destinations farther afield: Decoursy or Prevost Islands or others.
If you arrive with your fishing license...the Sandpiper's crab trap or time to drop your rods will be available to you and your friends.
So, whether it is 4 hours or more, aboard the Sandpiper, you will see a part of the Gulf Islands few visitors experience.
For day trips, we recommend no more than 6 passengers, or for overnight adventures, 4 is a comfortable number.
Your captain has navigated vessels from the Arctic Circle to the clear waters of the Grenadines Islands....with stories to match these passages. Let us help you make this vacation the best!
